Our radio drama Twubakane in Rwanda
In Rwanda, 1 in 4 women experience intimate partner violence every year. Since September 2024, NOVAH has been producing Twubakane ("Let's build together"), a radio drama designed to shift the attitudes and behaviours that drive this violence.

Season 1 (2024-2025): Proof of Concept
Six episodes, broadcast on regional radio, reaching an estimated 30,000 listeners. Evaluated through formative research, qualitative interviews, and a baseline-endline study with 200 couples. Results suggest a 40% relative decline in violence reported by women.
Season 2 (2025 -2026): National pilot + RCT
Twelve episodes, planned for national broadcast in Q4 2026 with an estimated reach of 1 million listeners. Evaluated through a pre-airing qualitative study and a large-scale randomised controlled trial with 2,400 couples across 96 villages, run in partnership with Innovations for Poverty Action. Results expected end of 2026.
